Teams of high school students from across Canada tackled some of the big questions for the future of the Sackville Farmer’s Market — what should a permanent market site look like, and where should it be located?
Six teams of SHAD program students shared their ideas with a panel of local judges last Thursday evening in Tantramar council chambers. SHAD is a national program to encourage youth to excel in entrepreneurship and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
Market manager Danielle Latour was one of the judges and said the students had “well researched ideas that really took into consideration community opinions and a need for additional market and rec space. I think they really covered important topics that we all kind of want to address with this new multi use facility.”
