It has been Mayor Doug O’Brien’s first full year as mayor of Parksville.
From the start of his term, he had to act on one of the biggest challenges in the city. A temporary shelter to help those unhoused during the pandemic was set to close just a month later.
This was just one of the challenges he has taken on since becoming mayor but he says with the work as mayor and his council, they were able to complete projects to help grow the community.
Mayor O’Brien talks to CHLY to talk about his first full term and the hopes he has for the new year.
