The 41st annual Women’s Art Festival is continuing its tradition of giving by providing a new bursary through the Kingston School of Art.
The Women’s Art Festival, run entirely by volunteers, chooses a charity each year to donate the earnings from the event. This year, $2,500 is going towards a bursary at the Kingston School of Art to provide marginalized youth with access to arts programming, with priority given toward female-identifying applicants.
“The last few years, we have really focused on providing funds for marginalized children in our community to access arts programming that otherwise they would not have access to,” explained festival director Meagan Lapointe. “It kind of just seems like a natural fit that the Women’s Art Festival would provide bursaries to KSOA.”
The festival runs on Aug. 10. To learn more, you can visit womensartfestial.ca.
