The Street Help Homeless Centre received a $4500 grant earlier this month from the Grant Thornton Foundation. This grant will be used to help pay their large utility bills, allowing the organization to keep running and being able to serve the community.
As an organization that is open for all 365 days of the year, the community relies on them a lot, especially during the holidays. They provide hot meals from 11am to 5pm every single day, almost completely with the help of volunteers.
On December 22, 2023, CJAM spoke with Christine Wilson-Furlonger, Street Help Administrator, about the grant they received and what needs the community can have during the holidays.
