Windsor’s Downtown Cleaning Program has expanded its reach. A project of the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (BIA) and St. Leonard’s House Windsor, the program is dedicated to keeping litter off the streets of downtown Windsor.
Due to feedback showing that some Windsorites still see downtown Windsor to be dirty, the team invested into covering more of downtown Windsor, including the Downtown Mission.
The project also helps to avoid health risks of frequent litter, as it can attract disease carrying rodents and insects. This will be especially helpful for those utilizing the downtown mission due to homelessness, as they will be the most exposed to litter on the streets of downtown Windsor.
CJAM spoke to Chris MacLeod, chair of the Downtown BIA about the expansion and its potential affects.
