Beginning March 25, the W.J. Henderson Recreation Centre will be closed to the public until Sept. 3. The library will remain open to the public while construction for the renewal project takes place during this time.
All recreation programming will be moved to the Leisure & Activity Centre at 177 Upper Park Rd. During this time, township staff will also be relocated to other township facilities.
This renewal project includes renovations to the lobby, library meeting room, arena, canteen, multi-purpose rooms, and administration offices. The aquatic facility remains under construction until the end of 2025.
Members of the public are invited to join council and staff on March 23 for a wall breaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction. There will also be opportunities to learn more about the project, and information about how residents can get involved. The ceremony takes place alongside the township’s spring egg hunt.
