A police officer from Port Hope and her team of volunteers continue to exceed expectations, in distributing new pajamas to children in foster or government care.
Eight years ago Tammie Staples started “Tammie’s Jammies”, where soon after adopting her son she gave him a pair of new PJ’s on Christmas Eve, carrying on a tradition from when she was a child.
In 2024, the group handed out nearly 2800 pairs of new pajamas, smashing 2023’s total of approximately 2100.
Staples and volunteer Jerry Siebarth spoke with CFWN news reporter Dan Jones about the popularity and expansion of the program.
