The utilities division at Loyalist Township is looking for an increase of $4.2 million to their capital budget, for a total of $8.9 million in 2024.
At the second of three committee of the whole meetings scheduled over the next two weeks, the division presented council with their proposed 2024 budgets. Their proposed operating budget only includes a 1 per cent increase for a total of $12.4 million.
According to their draft, the division’s capital budget includes the addition of two new positions: a damage prevention technician, as well as an operations clerk. The budget also includes several capital projects totaling approximately $3.2 million that are specifically proposed to align with works planned by Lennox and Addington County.
Staff will be bringing a report to council in March that will list all capital projects to be carried
forward. The total for all projects is estimated at approximately $11.2 million.
