The Town of Brome Lake held its final council meeting of 2023 with two items topping the agenda – funding for the new infrastructure in the West Brome mobile home park and changes made to a mining by-law.
Mayor for the Town of Brome Lake Richard Burcombe talks about the December town council meeting with CIDI.
Speaking on the funding for the West Brome mobile home park, Burcombe explained that the sewer and water infrastructure were changed in 2022 because it was no longer up to government standards.
The total cost of the project was $3.3 million dollars, said Burcombe, but 95% of that will be covered by the government while the remaining balance is the responsibility of the owner of the mobile home park and the user-payers. To finance the infrastructure, town councillors adopted a 20-year borrowing by-law.
