A tourism strategy for the City of Corner Brook-Bay of Islands-Humber region is moving ahead with a proposal by Tract Consulting. The city accepted the proposal at a cost of nearly $49,000. The work will include design services for the Strategic Tourism for Areas and Regions (STAR) Trails near the “Man in the Mountain, ”and Cape Blow Me Down” trails.
At last week’s public meeting, Coun. Bill Griffin explained that phase one will consist of an assessment of the existing trail design, and the development of recommendations for improvements and/or additions to the existing trails. Proposals have been evaluated and staff are ready to award pending final funding approval.
