The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) community celebrated pink shirt day to highlight anti-2SLGBTQ+ bullying by “celebrating visibility together.”
Pink shirt day has been celebrated every second week of April for the last 17 years to spread anti-bullying awareness.
TMU’s event had multiple speakers of the 2SLGBTQ+ community at the school. One of those speakers was Kirsten Rowe, a media production student. Rowe also hosts pole dancing lessons for students and staff at the school. She says that every time a new session is posted, it fills up in a few hours.
CJTM News shares Rowe’s perspectives and other highlights of the day’s activities.
