Saint John’s Atlantic Repertory Company presented its plans for a new 250-seat theatre and home for the company on Tuesday October 29th. The new $30 million, multi-use venue is to be located at the city’s old courthouse on Sydney Street, opposite uptown’s Kings Square. Member of Parliament Wayne Long was also present to announce significant federal government funding for the project.
Local 107.3 FM spoke with the Chair of the Atlantic Repertory Company’s Board, Dr. Sandra Bell. Dr. Bell, a professor at the University of New Brunswick spoke about her involvement in Saint John’s theatre scene as well as the plans for the new venue and what the project will entail.
