Traditional Indigenous Tattoo Artist Crystal Kimewon is looking to teach her clients about themselves and the meaning of symbolic tattoo.
Based at Crash and Burn Tattoos, an Indigenous/Ally co-owned tattoo studio in Toronto, Kimewon has travelled North America, gaining knowledge about the symbols, and meanings of traditional Tattoos. Kimewon says they are careful not to exploit the traditional practices and explains the process and meaning behind the symbols while she gets to know the spiritual journey clients are on.
ELMNT FM spoke with Kimewon to learn more about how they are bringing traditional Indigenous art into Toronto tattoo industry.
