An anonymous donation of $12,500 to Sounds of the Next Generation (SONG) may be the largest donation the organization has ever received.
SONG, which offers free musical programming to Northumberland youth, was established in 2013 and Executive Director Miles Bowman believes the previous top matching donation was for up to $10,000.
Bowman spoke to Northumberland 89.7 about the impact the most from the most recent donation would have. There are currently 17 classes offered, including choral, drums, strings and rock band. There is currently a waiting list for the programs offered.
The organization will also match every dollar from other donations to the individual donation until Dec. 31, for a total of $25,000. More information can be found on the SONG website.
