Grand Erie District School Board‘s (GEDSB) annual Education Service Agreement Report with Six Nations highlighted improved numbers when it comes to the number of high school credits being earned by Six Nations students who are on track to graduate.
GEDSB presented the report that showcased Six Nations secondary school students stats from the 2023/24 school year to council during the Nov. 26 general council meeting.
The report showed that 47 percent of Gr. 9 students, 40 percent of Gr. 10 students, 44 percent of Gr. 11 students and 57 percent of Gr. 12 students had achieved the amount of credits necessary in each grade to be track to graduate over the school year.
All numbers that are on par or increased from the 2022/2023 school year report.
Some Six Nations’ councillors discussed ways to improve on the stats for Six Nations students, including addressing attendance and increasing communication between GEDSB and the five Six Nations Elementary Schools.
