Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) announced on Monday that 11 applicants have been granted funding from this year’s round of the SNGRDC’s Economic Development Trust.
Over $783,000 was granted to recipients. The trust takes surplus profits that are generated by SNGRDC and provides funding with those profits to community groups and organizations that address community priorities.
The Economic Development Trust’s committee heard presentations from a shortlist of applicants last month to be reviewed for funding for the upcoming fiscal year. As a result, four General Recipients and seven Grassroots Recipients will be awarded funding for each of their respective projects.
SNGRDC say additional funding is still available and there will be a second call for applications later in 2024, as not all funds were invested during this call for applications.
