At the Six Nations Elected Council meeting Feb. 27, Steve Williams briefly presented the project “We Swim Together,” a swimming complex that is intended to be built behind the Community Hall & Gaylord Powless Arena.
Williams says the project is estimated to cost around $6 million which was estimated last year (2023). During the presentation, Williams also spoke about the project costs in regards to how it will be paid for as “Grand River Enterprises is not paying for it all.” Williams said he loved the idea that other tobacco manufacturers can also assist with fundraising.
Suggestions were made on what would be needed to go forward and an in depth presentation date is to be scheduled by Six Nations elected council.
