The return of the Sima Festival last year after COVID was a much-welcomed treat for the city of Terrace, and this year the festival has grown to be 5 days long, ending in the Sima Winter Ball in collaboration with Terrace Pride Pals.
Two artists in Terrace BC are celebrating the expansion of their winter festival called “Sima – Wintering Together”. This multi-day, multi-venue event has grown to be a 5 day event in Terrace with a large list of free events and lengthy list of local partners in an attempt to “bring people together in the darkest month”, according to co-founder Taylor Dilley and member of Outdoor Artist Collective.
This year, the OAC is proud to partner with the Terrace Pride Pals to bring Theo Rhetical, a trans-masc two-spirit drag king of Peepeekisis Cree Nation and Métis ancestry to host the Sima Winter Ball in attempt to diversify Terrace’s association with LGBTIQA+ community.
