Seedy Saturday is returning to Kingston tomorrow for the second time since 2019.
This year’s event will include a seed swap table, local seed vendors, gardening advice from Rideau Thousand Islands Master Gardeners and Gardening Kingston, and more.
Seedy Saturday is an event run by Kingston Area Seed System Initiative (KASSI) to promote sustainable gardening practices, for gardeners of all levels.
They will also be celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Sisters in Providence Seed Rematriation Project, where Sisters of Providence closed their Heirloom Seed Sanctuary and gifted the seeds to KASSI (Kingston Area Seed System Initiative) and Ratinenhayėnthos, an Indigenous seed stewardship organization in Tyendinaga.
The event will be held on Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. upstairs at St. Luke’s Church, 236 Nelson Street.
