Earlier this month, Cole Dempster of Rockwood was a finalist at the RBC Training Ground event for cycling. This success for the Acton High School 17-year-old propels him closer to his self-proclaimed goal of competing in the 2028 Olympics.
“Just keep training” is the mentality of the Grade 12 student, who says he has been training with the Cycling Canada National Team in advance of securing funding from the RBC Training Ground event.
The money, he says, will be valuable in helping him continue to compete, including in Bromont, Quebec in April for this year’s Junior Canadian Track Cycling Nationals.
