A rally was held outside Castlegar City Hall calling for a ceasefire in Gaza on Saturday.
Roughly 30 people gathered at the event organized by the Kootenay Region chapter of the United Nations Association in Canada (KRUNA)
Members of KRUNA, the Kootenay Muslim Association and other concerned citizens shared their thoughts on the conflict and the need for a ceasefire. Most attendees held signs promoting peace and support for Palestine.
Kootenay Co-op Radio spoke with Nadine Podmoroff of KRUNA following the demonstration. She called on all Canadians to do what they can to make a ceasefire happen in Gaza.
KRUNA will also be hosting a fundraiser for Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) at the Brilliant Cultural Centre in Castlegar on March 24.
