After taking a course at the Queen’s DAN School of Drama and Music, students will be presenting pieces at the TK Fringe Festival for the first time.
TK Fringe is part of the Kick & Push Theatre Festival, which is entering its 10th anniversary season, and runs over the first two weeks of August.
Fringe researcher Thea Fitz-James collaborated with Theatre Kingston to present the first fringe theatre course for Queen’s Drama students in fall 2023. After learning from experienced Fringers, studying the history of fringe theatre, and creating their own shows, five students decided to take it to the next level and perform at the TK Fringe Festival.
“We’re not just creating actors, we’re not just creating sound designers or stage managers, we’re creating artists,” Fitz-James explained in an interview with CFRC.
All TK Fringe show details and tickets are available on the Theatre Kingston website.
