With their new committee on gender identity, the Coalition Avenir Quebec is “playing with other people’s lives for their own political clout,” says McGill Law student Ki’ra Prentice.
Prentice was one of the Montrealers who gathered outside the Palais de Justice on Monday (Jan. 15) in protest of the provincial committee. The committee is made up of three cisgender Quebecers, two of whom have reportedly made statements that worry the transgender community.
CKUT caught up with Prentice about the reasons behind Monday’s protest.
