Quebec Liberal Party leadership candidate Charles Milliard stopped by CHIP 101.9’s studios on January 15 for an interview, accompanied by local MNA André Fortin. The leadership race kicked off on Monday.
Originally from Lévis, Milliard is trained as a pharmacist and more recently served as the President of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec.
Milliard said that he wanted to focus on “bread and butter” issues like transportation, health care and education. He proposed wage parity legislation for health care workers in the Outaouais region as a way of easing the pressure on short-staffed local facilities.
Fortin, who was once himself eyeing the leadership of the party, explained that he endorsed Milliard for the leadership because of his experience supporting small businesses.
The race will conclude on June 14.
