Nine local projects totaling $29,000 were approved by council this week for the 2024 Naturally L&A
Activation Program.
The program funds new and enhanced events, new and enhanced tourism products, beautification projects, cultural programs and recreational initiatives. Eligible organizations included festival and event organizers, residents, business and community groups.
The Lennox & Addington County economic development office launched the program in October 2023. It focuses on supporting projects that are unique and will improve the different communities within the county. A total of 18 submissions were received. According to staff’s report, a selection committee of three members of the economic development coalition, and economic development staff met to recommend successful applications to council.
$40,000 in funding was available. The remaining funding will be used on another round of applications. According to staff, the application window will reopen in the spring.
