Incessant traveller Devon Flynn, a Prince George millennial wearing many hats, now adds the title of author to his repertoire.
About 15 years ago the travel bug bit Flynn while living in Hazelton BC, as an opportunity to join the Katimavik program appeared.
He found unique appeal in the concept of travelling thousands of kilometres away and immersing oneself in Quebecois culture with a group of strangers. His knack for keeping notes during that experience, and several that followed, formed the beginnings of this memoir Elsewhere, Canada: Musings of a Katimaviker. With time and the benefit of hindsight, Flynn found the initiative to sit down and transform his reflection into the written word.
In this book and his conversation with CFUR News, he expresses not only the value of getting out of town and seeing the world, but that of reflecting on the qualities that influence our decisions, and ultimately make us who we are.
