It’s a good news day at the Deer Lake Regional Airport. Porter Airlines has announced a new daily route to Halifax will start June 4.
Airport President and CEO Tammy Priddle says a “new daily service to Halifax Stanfield International Airport will provide the community with more access to our neighbors in the Maritimes.”
This service to Halifax will also help connect passengers to other national airports with bigger networks like Billy Bishop, Toronto Pearson, Montreal and so on. Passenger volumes in 2023 were just 7 per cent below 2019 levels and airport officials believe this will support the airport’s recovery from the pandemic and growth in the local economy.
CKVB News spoke with Priddle about goals for the upcoming tourist season.
