The City of Port Moody’s Wildlife-Friendly Holiday Decorating program allows local residents to decorate Pioneer Memorial Park without damaging the environment.
This program, which is available for public participation until February 14th, 2025, was implemented in order to deter residents of Port Moody from decorating parks throughout the city using materials that are unsafe for local wildlife.
CJSF spoke with Port Moody’s Director of Environment and Parks, Erin Embley, on the program. Embley discusses the inspirations behind the program, as well as the positive environmental impact it has had for the City’s parks.
