Port Hope Mayor Olena Hankivsky says the raising of the Pan-African flag is another example of the municipality’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
The Pan-African flag will be raised at Town Hall on Thursday at 11 a.m. and fly throughout February in celebration of Black History Month. The mayor, members of council, staff and the community will be in attendance.Mayor Hankivsky spoke to CFWN about the event to honoring Black history and heritage and celebrate the growing diversity of Port Hope.
This specific case is in response to a community request from Angela Grogan, the mayor noted.
