Port Hope’s Dalyn Wakely and Trevor Hoskin, who played for the Cobourg Cougars, were selected in the NHL Entry Draft this past Saturday in Las Vegas.
Wakely, in his third year of eligibility, was drafted in the sixth round, 192nd overall by the Edmonton Oilers. He has played three years with the Ontario Hockey League’s North Bay Battalion and this past season registered 39 goals and 65 assists for 104 points in 66 regular season games and tacked on 13 more goals and 10 helpers in 16 playoff games.
Hoskin, who has played the past three seasons with the Cobourg Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, was drafted in the fourth round, 106th overall by the Calgary Flames.
