The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says most of the complaints they receive about erratic off-road vehicle operators are kids ATVing, and parents need to be held accountable for their actions.
Police held a news conference in St. John’s this morning, along with Deputy Chief Colin McNeil, Digital Government and Service Minister Elvis Loveless, as well as Dr. Richard Barter, clinical chief of emergency, to speak to the issue.
Cst. James Cadigan says parents are responsible for children under 16. Starting Oct. 15, operator safety training will be mandatory for ATV users who are under 16 years old and proof must be carried at all times.
