The Southern Cortes Community Association (SCCA) has announced an expansion to the Playschool operation, introducing a Summer Program and full-time hours. The announcement was first made at the SCCA AGM on June 15. The summer session will begin the week of July 8.
Funding for the expansion is coming through the Cortes Island Community Foundation with the Gender Equity Program. The funding has enabled the Playschool to hire more facilitators, with the flexibility to bring on additional help in the future as well.
According to the Executive Director of the SCCA Cora Moret, the programming is set to fully expand to Monday through Friday hours beginning in September.
