Peterborough City staff and elected officials attended the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) conference from Aug. 18-21.
While at AMO, Peterborough representatives had scheduled delegations to “discuss priority issues” with provincial ministries, connected with other Ontario municipalities, and received a Municipal Innovation Award.
The Peter J. Marshall Award for Municipal Innovation is AMO’s “highest award,” says Sarah MacDougall Perrin, Peterborough’s Government Relations Advisor; Peterborough was recognized with this award because of its work on the Modular Bridge Housing Community project completed in 2023.
MacDougall Perrin shared that all five of Peterborough’s delegations to the Ontario government were “accepted.”
“Peterborough’s profile at AMO this year was significant,” says MacDougall Perrin while explaining all of the times Peterborough was featured on the conference’s main stage.
