On Wednesday, Sept. 25, around 6:50 p.m., a 17-year-old man was shot with a firearm near the intersection of Parkhill Rd. and George St. N in Peterborough.
The following morning, at 11:30 a.m., Peterborough Police Services were available for media in front of the scene of the incident (701 George St. N).
The victim suffered “multiple gunshot wounds,” says Detective Staff Sergeant, Josh McGrath. “The male was treated at the scene and, ultimately, was transported to a hospital in Toronto where he is current in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.”
Although the suspects are, currently, unknown, Chief of Police, Stuart Betts, says that “the illicit drug trade is at the heart of [the incident].”
