Fire trucks have a shelf life of twenty years regardless of the usage, condition or kilometers on the odometer. That’s what council was told at the January 16 Council meeting.
Council is hoping to change that statistic, and at the same time, help other small or rural municipalities whose tax base is too low to arbitrarily replace fire trucks every twenty years.
