A local Parksville brewery says as it continues to grow in popularity, it wants to extend its liquor service hours but needs council’s support.
Mount Arrowsmith Brewing Company is applying to change their current licensed liquor service with the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch but needs support from the City of Parksville in their application. The application would see their current licensed liquor service hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. change to 10 a.m. to midnight seven days a week.
But after council allowed community members to send the city feedback on their options for the time change, they found many residents were against it.
All council members say they are in favour of supporting the brewery but worry about how the time change could affect residents.
