This Summer, the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre (OTCC), a non-profit rehabilitation centre for Ontario’s freshwater turtle species, is moving from their current location to a newly constructed facility on Television Road.
OTCC’s Education Coordinator Lisa Browning said that as the number of intakes has increased each year, they have reached “max capacity” of their current facility on 1434 Chemong Rd.
OTCC supporters Mary and Jerry Young have donated their property for the OTCC to construct a new facility to accommodate their growing programming. The new facility is funded through volunteers and donations through their “capital campaign.”
Construction on the new facility began last summer, but they have now begun moving into the new space. Browning hopes the move will be complete by the end of the Summer season, because their Chemong Road lease ends in August.
OTCC updates their website with progress on the move.
