After a long stretch of advocacy and fundraising efforts by No Clearcuts Kingston Inc. (NCK), their Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) hearing for the Davis Tannery site began on Monday, Feb. 5.
No Clearcuts Kingston Inc. has been working for the last two years to stop developer Jay Party Enterprises Inc. from demolishing and building on top of what they claim is an environmentally significant site beside the Cataraqui River. In September of 2022, City Council voted against the developers proposal. The developer appealed the City’s decision to the OTL, and the hearing began on Monday, set to span over the next 5 weeks.
The hearing is being live streamed on the OTL youtube channel.
