Oct. 10 is World Mental Health Day: a chance to end the stigma and shine a light on mental health issues.
The Regroupement des ressources alternatives en santé mentale du Québec (RRASMQ) is celebrating the day with an artwork made by all its member organizations.
For this coalition of community groups, the day is an opportunity to push for a new approach to mental health care: one that looks to provide Quebecers with not just medication but mutual aid and a strong social safety net.
Volunteer Peter Belland speaks to CKUT about the importance of these alternatives.
