On March 10, Ottawa firefighters responded to a call that led them to a collision on Leitrim and Bowesville road that involved an OC Transpo bus.
During the collision, the bus had flipped onto it’s side in a ditch while the other vehicle involved remained on the road. Ottawa Fire Services say there were less than 10 passengers on board and they had escaped through the roof hatch of the bus. The driver was stuck inside until firefighters arrived, and they rescued him by cutting off the front windshield with a sawzall.
Fire hazards and other dangerous hazards related to the truck were addressed by the firefighters on scene before they could cause further issues.
