Northumberland OPP have charged three more individuals with impaired driving in unrelated incidents during the past week, including one local resident.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Christmas morning, a pick-up truck travelling the wrong way on Highway 401 from Trenton to Northumberland and failed to stop for police.
Northumberland OPP stopped the vehicle travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes on Highway 401 within The Municipality of Brighton.
37-year-old Matthew Workman from Cobourg was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, operation while impaired, failing to stop for police, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available and failure to notify change of address.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date and received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
