There was a month-to-month decrease in sales this year from 154 in June to the 111 in July. Central Lakes Association of Realtors president Vicky Sweeney told CFWN summer holidays for families is one of the contributing factors.
Locally in Northumberland, sales for July were up year-over-year from 76 in 2023 to 111 in July of this year. The average price decreased from $754,547 to $734,111 during the same time period.
Sweeney says while the housing market slows during the summer months, sales should pick up during the fall in the region which includes Northumberland County, Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Durham and Hastings regions and Prince Edward County.
