Loving Spoonful, a long-standing non-profit organization in Kingston, has announced it will be ceasing operations due to funding challenges.
Loving Spoonful currently manages numerous programs, including the GROW project in over 20 elementary schools, Community Kitchens, and the Community Harvest Markets. After 16 years of bringing the community together with local food, battling food insecurity, and promoting sustainability, the organization has begun the process of winding down.
In the announcement, they explained, “The current economic landscape has presented funding challenges for many charities across Canada, including Loving Spoonful.”
The organization is in negotiations with a local partner to preserve some of their existing programs and ensure continued support for the community.
