The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) and RCMP NL teamed up this past holiday weekend as part of a national campaign called “Operation Impact.” The RNC issued over 270 tickets and charged multiple impaired drivers between October 11-14. RNC Constable Cadigan says out of the tickets, over 80 were issued in the Corner Brook region. Meanwhile, RCMP Traffic West joined other jurisdictions and arrested multiple impaired drivers, and issued tickets for various traffic offences. A total of five drivers were arrested for impaired driving by alcohol and drugs. One motorist received a roadside license suspension for having a blood alcohol concentration that was above the provincial limit but below the criminal threshold.
