Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and Rural Economic Development Minister Gudie Hutchings says next year’s Canada games could bring upwards of $120 million to the economies of the Avalon Peninsula. Hutchings was in the capital city to announce $19 million is being invested to host the event by supporting infrastructure and other needs. Hutchings says these Games leave a lasting legacy like the 1999 games with the construction of the Corner Brook Civic Centre. She says this will be one of the largest events that will be hosted in NL with people travelling from across the country. Meanwhile, Lacrosse is being introduced in next year’s Canada Games.
