The NL Workforce Innovation Centre (NLWIC) is looking at ways to help workers transition into different jobs to suit the new economy.
This is the second phase of a research project called, “Job Transition Pathways,” and is a joint effort between the Dais Research Team at Toronto Metropolitan University and the NLWIC. Director Sharon McLennon says they’re building on labour market research and once these pathways have been identified, workers can be upskilled and trained.
Faculty Researcher Alexsandra Stefanovic-Chafe says they’re consulting with stakeholders like industry representatives, training institutions, employers, and job seekers.
