The Uptown Resto Bar in Embrun, run by Manpreet Khaira, is one of the many new local establishments offering diverse menus. In Khaira’s case he focuses on both traditional Indian food and Indian fusion.
The restaurant at 968 Notre-Dame Street is at the site of the former Homestead Pub (which itself has moved to the site of the former brewpub in the old Township fire hall).
CJRO talks to Khaira about why he chose Embrun for a new restaurant, his previous experience as a proprietor in other Ottawa-area establishments, and how business is going after starting during the later part of the pandemic.
