The Stephenville Dymond International Airport is gearing up for what looks like will be a very busy year ahead.
Owner Carl Dymond first announced his intentions to buy the bankrupt infrastructure back in 2021. He says it’s been a long road to finally acquiring the airport last August, but was well worth it. Dymond is looking two to three years down the road when flights are normalized and people will be walking into the airport, eating at restaurants and staying at the airport hotel.
He gave airport workers a $10 an hour wage increase and says they’ve accomplished a lot in the past few months. Dymond says administrative work has kept them incredibly busy and tells CKVB more.
