Finance Minister Siobhan Coady she is pleased to hear Dominic Leblanc will be the new Federal Finance Minister, after Christia Freeland announced she is stepping down from cabinet. Coady said she appreciated the work of Freeland, added the new finance minister is from New Brunswick and is very supportive. Coady says the threat of a 25 percent tariff on Canadian goods is very concerning for people. She called for a united front approach to the threat. Border security is a big issue and this is why a tariff could be implemented. Coady says she’s hopeful Canada can continue to work with the United States on issues that are important to us all.
