The total solar eclipse is taking place Monday April 8 at 3:21pm in Prince Edward County and the municipality is in the unique position of being in the “path of totality”. This rare occasion takes place when the moon moves between the sun and earth. The next eclipse of this magnitude will not occur until 2399, making the eclipse of April 8 2024 a once in a lifetime experience.
The County is a major tourist destination, mostly in the summer, but efforts are being made to attract visitors all year round.
